📋 Table of Contents
1What's the difference between Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette versions of YSL Y?
Eau de Parfum has higher fragrance concentration (around 20%), so it lasts longer on skin and costs more, while Eau de Toilette has about 5-15% concentration and fades faster but is lighter for daily wear. Choose Eau de Parfum if you want all-day projection, or Eau de Toilette if you prefer something subtle or plan to reapply.
2How long does YSL Y perfume typically last on skin?
The Eau de Parfum version lasts 6-8 hours or more depending on your skin type and application, while Eau de Toilette usually fades within 4-5 hours. Dry skin tends to hold fragrance shorter, so those with oily skin may get longer wear.
3What size bottle should I buy if I'm trying YSL Y for the first time?
Start with a 30ml bottle to test how the scent performs on your skin over a few weeks—it's large enough to wear regularly but small enough that you won't be stuck with a full bottle if it doesn't suit you. If you love it, you can always upgrade to a larger 50ml or 90ml size.
4Is YSL Y suitable for everyday wear or special occasions?
YSL Y works well for both—it's versatile enough for office or casual days but sophisticated enough for evenings out. The fresh, slightly woody scent profile makes it appropriate year-round, though some find it slightly better for cooler months.
5How can I tell if I'm buying authentic YSL Y perfume?
Check the packaging for crisp printing, correct spelling, and a proper serial number on the box; authentic bottles have quality glass with smooth seams and consistent labeling. Buy from authorized retailers or verified sellers to avoid counterfeits entirely.
